Mikrokopter @ dorkbot AC
Samstag, 31. Oktober 2009Last week i had the opportunity to sample a mikrokopter at dorkbot aachen. my original aim was to sample a continous drone of the rotors sounds, but i did not dare to ask the fascinated audience of the mikrokopter indoor show to be silent. nevertheless i was able to cut a few shorter oneshots and loops from the show, and those of you, who use ableton live or another tool with sophisticated timestretching, can for sure bring them into rhythmic context. or use timestretching and pitchshifting to create a quasi-constant drone. feel free to download the mp3s. i especially like sound d, which resembles a siren.

I’m trying to record a small airplane for weeks now, but it seems to be quite tough to get this recording done. I did manage to get this recording in the same week, but i’d like to have it more clearly, without any background noise from cars. The sound of the plane itself is not that different from the mikrokopter; it’s just a lower pitched version.
