I recorded short pieces of environment near my work today. The first one is a bird with somehow percussive quality. Does anybody know what species it is?

The second one is somehow subtle: You can hear the trees leaves shaking in the wind, and every now and then the sound of a chestnut hitting the ground. Birds. Roads in the background.

I’m sorry that you can’t mix them here, and the loops are not played back seamless, so download them and play around with them in the DAW / sampler of your choice.

Not much of field recording lately, and to make matters worse i sent the windscreen, i ordered for my olmypus ls10, to the wrong adress, so there’s some stress ahead in near future. however, i’ll do my best to post any sound this week.

I just found Asmus Tietchens’ essay “Bekenntnisse eines ehemaligen Soundscapers”, in which he criticises the soundscape-field-recording-hype. I can partyl decline, partly agree to his criticism. Especially when i see the creative work, some musicians do with field recording, i feel inspired again and decline Asmus Tietchens critics.
